Larval Collection

A person in a hat and gloves is standing in shallow water, using a tool to sample or measure something in the grass.

Control Operators (i.e., field personnel) routinely collect larval samples and bring them to our lab where genus and population abundance information is gathered about mosquito producing water sites. Larval collections are used to determine potential populations and what type of mosquito(es) is(are) being produced.

See the testing section for more details.
