Due to regional fires (Boise, Idaho area) the contracting company cannot make it to our District from Utah.  Therefore, the planned aerial spraying for adult mosquitoes has been cancelled.

We have detected West Nile Virus (WNV) in collected mosquitoes from multiple locations across the District.  Spraying is occuring to reduce the mosquito populations to lessen the statistical chance of being exposed to WNV through the "bite" of an infected mosquito.  One should take precautions to minimize their personal exposure as well by avoiding dusk and dawn (heightened activity times), wear loose fitting long sleeved shirts and pants, and if you choose to wear a repellent use an EPA registred product.

Spraying will begin at or after sunset, may take 2-3 hours to complete (multiple blocks), and is targeting adult flying mosquitoes in areas with confirmed West Nile Virus activity.
